PRAGOTI

In a discussion among the editorial group of Pragoti we had decided to contribute to the electoral campaign of the Left party candidates by building up a Campaign Information Database. This forum post is a first step to involve everyone in the Pragoti universe in this endevour. 

There are two types of information we will try to collate from all over the country. 

1. Try and build up a list contact persons / offices / emails / phones etc in different cities, towns, districts and mohallas of candidates representing the Left front all over the country and the United Left Bloc in Bihar.

2. Build up a list of local demand charters, manifestoes, press releases, campaign material of Left party candidates. We  also request comrades in each state unit to send us their manifesto / demands list for these elections and we would host them.

We request all our members and readers to collect the following information from their areas of residence and work and send it to us.

++ Areas where there are no Left candidates, we would request comrades to send us the contact details of the local party, trade union(s), student's union(s), women's organisations at the district level.

If there are other significant pieces of information which need to be given they can be added too.

Pragoti gets upto 400-500 visitors on a day. Many of them are left supporters and sympathisers who are not active with the Left in any organised way. This is our attempt to provide all our readers with a local link where they can contribute to the Left's electoral campaign. This is particularly important outside of West Bengal, Kerala and Tripura where the Left is organisationally not strong.

Looking forward to an early and widespread response from all comrades. If enough information is collated this can become a long term database for linking supporters and sympathisers with Left organisations.
