Look what trouble the BJP is in, just two weeks before voting begins for the 15th Lok Sabha.
Delhi based journalist, Jyoti Malhotra does a pretty good analysis of the internal divisions within the BJP and its dilemma over handling the Varun Gandhi issue, in the run up to the Lok Sabha elections of 2009. It now appears that even top BJP leaders have given up hope of winning the elections. Today's papers have Shushma Swaraj admitting that the NDA will not get a majority. A few days back there was a report which suggested that Arun Jaitley's sudden love for ethics and morality in politics and opposition to "middleman" Sudhanshu Mittal was actually his way of distancing himself from the election campaign and thus protecting his political future from the fallout of a visible defeat for the BJP and its rusted leader, L.K. Advani.
These reports should not make thsoe supporting the Left and progressive forces complacent. Rather this is the moment to further intensify the fight against the BJP, RSS and the Sangh Parivar and strengthen the Left forces.
