Pragoti.org condemns the assassination of prominent opposition leader of Pakistan, Benazir Bhutto and deeply mourns her death.Ms Bhutto, who had been Prime Minister of Pakistan before, had been the target of extremist violence after her return to Pakistan recently. The assassination of Ms Bhutto points out to the pernicious influence of extremist forces in Pakistan, who were nurtured by the military and security establishment in cahoots with American imperia.

No less than a democratic authority with punitive powers to act on extremism and with the capability of asserting the sovereign will of the people is required in Pakistan.
