It does not take much time or energy for the theoreticians of right wing extremism in India to propound theories to legitimize their acts of butchery and ruthlessness in the arena of the Indian politics. It also does not take much effort either for them to transform the "laboratories of Hindutva" into "Hindu Rajya"; at least the chronicle of Gujarat for the past one and half decade and the recent history of Orissa suggests so.

He left behind a global legacy --- the famous Report from the Gallows, translated since his death into a big number of languages. Not only this, there are to this day schools of journalism, roads, streets and factories named after him as a man who fought against fascism but also gave journalism an ideological content.
